Activating KMS Client for Microsoft Office 2010

In the 2007 Microsoft Office system and previous versions of Microsoft Office, product key must enter when deploying Office. But with KMS, there is no need to enter product key for Office 2010 because all volume license editions of Office 2010 have a KMS client key preinstalled.

Only one key must be installed and activated on the Office 2010 KMS host to activate all volume license editions of Office 2010 KMS clients. If the Office 2010 KMS host is installed and configured, KMS activation occurs transparently to the user when an Office 2010 client is first installed.

But user can manually activate with the following steps

  1. Browse to Microsoft Office 2010 installation path

cd “\Program Files\Microsoft Office\office14″

2.  Run the following command to activate the computer

cscript ospp.vbs /act

Hi thanks for the article. I found this while googling my ms project serial number. I am trying to track down when I purchased it and inadvertently uncovered this whole KMS key thing. didn’t realise such a thing existed. Thanks for the share.

  2. What’s the best way to touch base with the person who submitted this article? I know it maybe a lot to ask, but is it possible to schedule a phone session just for A few minutes?
